Spots Made Skateable
This spot needed work, so we met up. Burner, Pat, Adam and Candler put in work to make a rough spot skateable. It has its challenges. You’re right next to the road with a narrow path to ride on. Also theres a sign on one sides landing that gets in the way. But it seemed to have potential when we first saw it. Flynn showed me this grinder tool called a Rub Brick. It smooths a rough ledge before you wax it. Some tricks happened, some didn’t. It was fun.

Santi’s Flat Spots
Here’s just some random clips from the last week or month or whatever. Mike Summers does some great lines and then you’ve got Burner and KFB on the UGA campus, followed by Chris Head and Santi at the park in Athens. Santi just tore his ACL last week. I saw the footage and it’s remarkable how down he is to commit to something crazy, but sometimes that doesn’t pay off. Get well soon Santi!
Independent at Brook Run
Seeing skating like this in person is pretty damn enjoyable. Here’s Al Partanen, Omar Hassan, and Darren Navarrette. Following those guys, you’ll see Load. If you don’t know him, he’s a gnarly old pool skater who’s full of attitude. He took a couple runs in the bowl, and at some point he slammed hard enough to get knocked out. He was completely unconscious for several minutes, and was even bleeding from under his helmet. Eventually he came to but it was quite alarming. At least there were plenty of friends around.
