Next Saturday, April 3rd, hang out, skate, donate some cash, and we should all be skating the new park by the end of the summer. The fence will go up a couple days after this and demo will begin immediately thereafter.
This will be a “proper” event. Keep your brews in cups.

Mason McLeod – No Giving Up!

Mason is a ten-year-old boy diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma in March 2008. Since that time he has had some remission but has also relapsed twice and suffered a coma caused by one of the chemo drugs. He also suffered kidney damage at that same time which almost kept him from receiving his Bone Marrow Transplant. Thanks be to God, Amy and Travis were directed to Duke Children’s Hospital in Durham and to Dr. Martin, who gladly took on Mason’s case.

His Bone Marrow Transplant took place Jan 08/2009 with his little brother Gavin, as his perfectly matching donor. Going through transplant was rough on Mason; it is on all these precious children. He made it through and was discharged to a local apartment waiting that magical 100th day. Sadly, more cancer cells were found in his central nervous system at approximately Day 53. The family was devastated and frankly the doctors didn’t know what to do, but after regrouping, this amazing family pulled up their bootstraps and is now forging ahead with THE NEW PLAN, put together by Dr. Martin and colleagues. The McLeod family mission statement… Save Mason, No giving up allowed. God is with us, we know this. So many people are praying for Mason, we know this as well. Mason’s wish is simple, he wants to go home and just be a normal boy again.

Foundation Update

Just a quick text only post to update everyone on the foundation. As far as we know now, we are NOT losing the foundation. There is a problem though that is making the head of land maintenance upset and will cost us the spot if we don’t fix it…….the trash. From here on out, in his words, whatever you bring in you need to take out. Thats it, no more trash, no more broken bottles. He is going to try to bring a dumpster down there to keep there, but until you see one just don’t leave your trash and don’t throw it in the bushes. Also, don’t dump your old ramps there to fall apart and be left to die with scrap wood sitting around. And if you see some random joker drive up in a truck to dump his crap then stop him. Spread the word and police the spot yourselves and hopefully it will be our spot to ride for a while longer now.

And look at David in the background of this photo, doesn’t he look like a bald man with long sides?

I was talking to Steve yesterday and he got onto me about the new version so I let him know I was working on it and that soon it would be up. For some damn reason (Steve) I woke up at 3:30 and couldn’t let it go. A perect time to make V.3 live, work out some bugs, and continue with the upgrades. So here it is, I guess. Still a few things to do, actually a couple are major (like a gallery for Miah) but I feel better working on them on the proper server, so you might notice some wierd shit here and there. Look how old the Isht section is….we never updated it because it was so far down on the page that I don’t think anyone even looked at it. Problem solved. You can now also browse around and listen to the Jam without restarting it just to see the last post. There is now a dedicated Flickr page and you can tell if it’s been updated by looking at the thumbnails in the sidebar. I will not be the only one that updates it so keep your eye on that one. The weather from Charlie Brown (Fulton Co. Airport) is there just in case your lazy. Another new feature in the sidebar is the Events section. I plan to relieve myself from updating duties of this section by giving this chore to a few folks in the know. The archives and search function actually work. And last but not least you will start to notice a bit more when it comes to content. Let me know if you see anything jacked and I’ll try to fix it. Don’t tell me shit if you aren’t using Firefox or Safari though!

Welcome to Atlanta Hates US v.2

It’s about time, I know, but thanks for hanging in there. So this is the new look of Atlanta Hates Us and I would now like to take you on a tour.
This is the main content area and in it will be the 5 most recent posts, with the most recent being at the top and in full format. The other 4 will be excerpts that you can click the title of, or the “continue reading” link, to free the post from its confines.
Down below the 5 most recent posts you will see the Isht section with small bits of news, random links, and just general info. To the right of that is the Jam section which will be updated with a new song every few days or week or whatever.
Up top in the menu bar are a few drop-downs. The first being the archives which can lead you to all the prior posts either by date, category, month, or just everything. Then there is the link section with some links to folks I felt like linking to. Next to that is the search section, which is actually pretty cool. Just try it. Then we have the mandatory about and contact sections. Feel free to hit us up with whatever you got in the contact section.
Did I just say us? Yes sir I did. I have a few things in the â€œworksâ€ some might happen, some might not, but right off the bat, out the gate, and fresh off the boat Scott Wagoner is on board with some video viewers for yaâ€™ll.
There is still a little work to be done, I do know it takes a bit longer than it should to load but hopefully that will be fixed soon. I believe that the entire prior content from AHU v.1 has made the transition, some better than others, but the formatting will surely be different (jacked actually). I was going to toss it all and start from scratch but I think itâ€™s a good idea to keep it all for the memories. What good is a blog if you dump it every year right?
So keep on stopping by and thatâ€™s for all the support.
